Kerala Green Peas Coconut Milk Curry

Kerala Green Peas Coconut Milk Curry is a vegetarian delight that combines the freshness of green peas with the richness of coconut milk, creating a symphony of flavors.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Dry Green Peas
  • 2 nos Onions Sliced
  • 2 nos Green chillies Slit open length wise
  • 1 no Tomato Chopped
  • Curry leaves Few
  • Coriander leaves Few
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Meat masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 1 cup Coconut milk
  • Ginger A small piece - crushed
  • 4 nos Garlic cloves Crushed
  • Oil
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Keep green peas immersed in water, preferably overnight, till soft.
  • Pressure cook with enough water, turmeric powder and salt. Keep green peas with gravy aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add mustard seeds and when they start to splutter, add finely chopped onions, green chillies, curry leaves, chopped coriander leaves and fry, till the onions become brown.
  • Add chopped tomato and stir well, till the tomato blends.
  • Add crushed garlic and ginger pieces and stir well.
  • Add coriander powder, chilly powder, meat masala and stir well, till the aroma of masala comes out.
  • Add cooked green peas with gravy. Dry water content if it's too much.
  • Add coconut milk and stir well. Put the vessel in low flame and remove from fire before boiling starts.
  • Add pepper powder and garam masala and mix well.
  • Kerala Green Peas Coconut Milk Curry is ready.
