Tomato Chicken

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Chicken sliced into small pieces
  • 2 nos Onion thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp Red chilly powder
  • 2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp Soya sauce
  • 3 tbsp *Oil
  • Salt As reqd
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing
  • *Do not use coconut oil.

Instructions
 

  • For preparing Tomato Chicken, first chop chicken into small bite sized pieces. Wash well and drain.
  • Heat oil in a kadai or a pan. Stir in thinly sliced onion and saute well.
  • When onions are slightly browned, add chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and garam masala powder. Lower flame and add garlic paste. Saute for a minute.
  • Add tomato paste and the chicken pieces.
  • Close the kadai with a lid and allow the chicken pieces to get cooked in very low flame. Do not add water. Allow chicken to get cooked in its own juice.
  • When it is almost cooked, add soya sauce. Check for salt. Remember that soya sauce contains salt. Tangy, tasty Tomato Chicken is ready.
  • Garnish Tomato Chicken with coriander leaves.
  • Serve Tomato Chicken with chappathis or rice.
