Tamarind Chutney

Ingredients
  

  • 5 lemon Tamarind Puli
  • 2 tsp Jaggery Sharkkara
  • Chilly powder As reqd
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Soak tamarind in warm water for 30 minutes.
  • Squeeze out all the tamarind juice.
  • Take this juice in a sauce pan and heat it on a medium flame by adding water. It should get the consisitency of a sauce.
  • Keep stirring and bring it to boil.
  • Add jaggery, salt and chilly powder.
  • Heat for few more minutes.
  • When it becomes thick, turn off heat.
  • Heat little oil in a pan and add cumin seeds to it. Wait till good smell comes.
  • Pour it on top of the prepared chutney.
