Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Rice
  • 1 cup Button mushrooms
  • 1 no Onion chopped
  • 3 nos Cloves Grambu
  • 1 no Cardamom Elakka
  • 2 Bay leaves Karuga/Vazhana ela
  • 4 nos Black pepper Kurumulaku
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1/2 cup Cabbage grated
  • 4 nos Cashewnuts chopped
  • 4 tbsp Oil
  • 2 cups Water approx
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Wash rice and soak for 1/2 hour.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add cumin seeds, bay leaves, black pepper and cardamoms.
  • Add cashewnut pieces and simmer for 1 minute.
  • Add onions and fry till golden brown.
  • Add mushrooms and let it cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add rice, cabbage, garam masala and salt.
  • Add water and cover the pan.
  • Cook on slow flame till rice is done.
  • :- Serve with hot curry.
