Imli Rice With Onion Raita

Ingredients
  

For making rice:-

  • 2 cups Rice
  • 50 gm Tamarind Puli
  • 1 tsp Bengal gram Kadalaparippu
  • 1 tsp Black gram Uzhunnuparippu
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • Salt As reqd
  • cups Water

For making Onion Raitha:

  • ½ kg Curd
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 nos Onion finely chopped
  • 1 no Green chilly finely chopped
  • 1" piece Ginger finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • ¼ tsp Mustard Seeds Small

Instructions
 

  • For making rice: 1)Half boil rice.
  • Soak tamarind in water for 30 minutes. Mash it and strain it through a strainer.
  • Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Add Bengal gram and black gram.
  • Add rice followed by salt and tamarind water.
  • Mix well and cover it with a lid and simmer it for 5-7 minutes.
  • :-Serve hot with Onion Raitha.
  • For making onion raitha: 1)Beat curd. Add onion, salt, green chillies, ginger and coriander leaves.
  • Heat oil in a pan and crackle mustard seeds.
  • Add it to the raitha and mix well.
  • Refrigerate for 1-2 hours before serving.
