Bottle Gourd Curry Easy

Bottle gourd/Lauki curry recipe.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 no Bottle gourd/Churakka medium
  • 2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 4 nos Red chillies Kollamulaku
  • 1 tsp Rice
  • 1 lemon Tamarind
  • Salt As reqd

Tempering:-

  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Black gram Uzhunnuparippu
  • Asafoetida A pinch, Kayam
  • 2 nos Red chillies Kollamulaku

Instructions
 

  • Cut the vegetable into small cubes and wash them thoroughly.
  • Add salt and water to it and cook them till the vegetable becomes tender.
  • Drain off the excess water and keep it separately.
  • Soak mustard seeds and rice for 15 mins and add red chillies to grind them into a paste by using little water.
  • Soak tamarind in water and keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and put all the ingredients of tempering.
  • Fry them for 2-3 mins and add the cooked vegetable to it.
  • Stir it for some time.
  • Add the mustard paste and tamarind juice to it and mix well.
  • Cover Bottle Gourd curry for about 5 mins.
  • Remove the Bottle Gourd curry from fire.
  • :- Bottle Gourd curry is ready.
