Pepper Rasam

Pepper Rasam (Kurumullake Rasam)

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tsp Black pepper corns
  • 2 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1 tbsp Lentils
  • 2 nos Dried red chillies Kollamulaku
  • 1 piece Asafoetida Kaayam
  • 1 tbsp Tamarind paste Puli
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 5 nos Curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp Oil

Instructions
 

  • Roast the pepper, lentil and chillies together in a pan till they become golden brown.
  • Add cumin seeds and grind them together to a powder.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the tamarind paste(if not paste, remove the pieces of tamarind after 15 minutes in the water) in 4 cups of warm water.
  • Add salt and asafoetida, boil the water for a few minutes.
  • Mix in the powder from above and boil the pepper rasam for about 5 minutes.
  • :- Pepper Rasam (Kurumullake Rasam) is ready.
  • :- Serve Pepper Rasam (Kurumullake Rasam) hot with rice or drink like a soup.
  • :- Drinking Pepper Rasam is very good if you have fever.
