A small lemon sized ball, Puli
Asafoetida
A pinch, Kaayam

Instructions
Dry roast red gram, chana dhal, black gram, red chillies and asoefoetida in cooking oil.
Grind this mixture with water into a thick paste.
Add coconut, tamarind and salt and grind it for a few more seconds until all the mixture blends into a smooth paste.
:- Serve Coconut Chutney (Thengai Thigayal) with steamed rice or can be served with dosa(rice pan cakes).
:- Enjoy the Coconut Chutney (Thengai Thigayal). Coconut Chutney is must for dosa in south india.
