Coconut Chutney Easy

Coconut Chutney (Thengai Thigayal)

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup Red gram Thuvaraparippu
  • 1 cup Coconut
  • 1/4 cup Bengal gram Kadalaparippu
  • 1/4 cup Black gram Uzhunnuparippu
  • Tamarind A small lemon sized ball, Puli
  • Asafoetida A pinch, Kaayam
  • 5 nos Dried red chillies
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Oil

Instructions
 

  • Dry roast red gram, chana dhal, black gram, red chillies and asoefoetida in cooking oil.
  • Grind this mixture with water into a thick paste.
  • Add coconut, tamarind and salt and grind it for a few more seconds until all the mixture blends into a smooth paste.
  • :- Serve Coconut Chutney (Thengai Thigayal) with steamed rice or can be served with dosa(rice pan cakes).
  • :- Enjoy the Coconut Chutney (Thengai Thigayal). Coconut Chutney is must for dosa in south india.
