Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Parboiled rice/puzhukalari
  • Shallots Few
  • 1 no Coconut grated
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Fenugreek seeds
  • 1 hand Curry leaves
  • salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • For preparing Malabar Thenga Choru, first wash the rice well and drain it.
  • Heat water in a vessel along with grated coconut, chopped shallots, cumin seeds and fenugreek seeds.
  • When it starts to boil, add rice and salt as required.
  • Stir occasionally and cook it for 40-45 minutes.
  • Add curry leaves and put the flame in simmer mode to dry if it is wet.
  • Serve Malabar Thenga Choru hot with beef curry.
