In a kadai heat the oil and temper the bay leaf, curry leaves, cardamom, cinnamon and clove
add finely chopped onion and saute it for 3 mins
add chicken and mix well
add ginger garlic paste and mix it
add chopped tomato and mix well
add red chili powder, coriander powder, salt and turmeric powder and mix well
allow to cook in medium flame for 5 mins
mean while add coconut, cumin seed, fennel seed, pepper corn in a blender and grinned it to the smooth paste
add this paste to the chicken and mix well
add required water for gravy and allow to cook until the chicken get cooked and gravy becomes thick consistency
now chicken gravy for biriyani is ready. serve with biriyani
