Tamil Nadu Dal Fry

Dal Fry is a popular Indian lentil recipe. this curry goes well with rice and roti too

Ingredients
  

  • Toor Dal 100g
  • onion 1 no.( Also can use small onion )
  • Tomato 1 no.
  • Garlic 4 no.
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • green chili 4 no.
  • curry leaves 1 bunch
  • oil 2 tsp
  • mustard 1/2 tsp
  • broken urad dal 1/4 tsp
  • asafoetida 1/4 tsp
  • castor oil 1 tsp

Instructions
 

  • boil the toor dal by adding salt, turmeric powder, tomato, garlic and castor oil
  • smash the toor dal by beater
  • chop the onion, green chili
  • heat the oil in the pan and add onion and saute it until the onion turn into brown
  • add green chili and salt and mix well
  • transfer this onion into the toor dal
  • allow to cook in the medium flame for 10 minutes.
  • heat the oil in the temper pan and temper the mustard, broken urad dal, curry leaves and asafoetida
  • transfer this tempered oil into the dal
  • now tamil nadu style dal fry is ready
