2 nos. Potato/Aloo Small 2 nos. Onion Medium 2 nos. Dry Red chillies 2 nos. Green chilli 1/2 tsp Ginger garlic paste 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder 1/2 Cup Grated Coconut As reqd Coconut oil As reqd Salt For Seasoning: 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp Broken Urad dal 1/2 tsp Bengal gram Few Curry leaves
Boil the potatoes in a cooker. Remove the skin and crumble the potato. You can also chop into small pieces. Do not mash. Keep the potato aside.
Heat oil in the pan and take the ingredients for seasoning. Splutter the mustard seeds and add broken urad dal, bengal gram and red chillies.
Add curry leaves, onion and green chillies and saute well.
Add salt and turmeric powder and mix well.
Add ginger-garlic paste and mix it.
Add aloo and mix it and allow to cook for 5 mins. Mix well so the potato is crumbled well.
Now add grated coconut and mix well.
Potato Podimas is ready to serve.
