Pappu Charu

It is a traditional Andhra recipe like sambhar without sambhar powder.It is very easy recipe and good to accompany with idly and rice.It is good to have this charu during summer since it keeps body cool.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Toor dal
  • 4 Green chilly
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 Tomato
  • 1 tsp Mustard
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 5 Garlic
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 tsp Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Coriander leaves

Instructions
 

  • Wash and cook toor dal,green chilly,tomato,salt and oil with 1 cup water till soft in a cooker for 5 minutes ie, 3 whistles.
  • When it is cooked mash and keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a kadai add mustard when mustard splutters add cumin seeds,then add garlic,red chilly and onion saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add mashed dal mix to this and boil for 2 minutes in low flame.Add chilli powder and turmeric powder and coriander leaves to this and mix all together.
  • Now pappu chaaru is ready to serve.
