Special Brinjal Sambhar

it is a tradiotional kerala dish. This Brinjal sambhar is a lentil based dish which is a very good combo with rice.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2k g Brinjal
  • 2 chopped Onion
  • 2chopped into tomato
  • 5 Green chilly
  • 1/4k g Toor dal
  • 1 tsp Asafoetida
  • 1/2 cup Tamarind juice
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 3,4 Coriander leaves
  • 3,4 Curry leaves
  • 2 tsp Coconut oil
  • Fenu greek seeds
  • must

Instructions
 

  • First cut onions into pieces
  • Then cut brinjal into pieces
  • then cut tomato into pieces
  • cut green chilli also
  • Cookl toor dal for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Add brinjal,tomato ,onion and greenchilly to cooked dal.Add salt also.
  • Add chilli powder and turmeric powder to this.A 1 cup of water.
  • close the pressure cooker and cook for 10 minutes till all cooked well.After that keep it aside.
  • Next in a kadai put 2 spoons of coconut oil.
  • Add mustard seeds,when it crackled add fenugreek seeds,dry red chilly and curry leaves.
  • Add sambhar powder and asafoetida to this mix it for 2 minutes.
  • Then mix this tempering to sambhar .
  • Boil for 2 minutes .Now sambhar is ready to serve.
