Sweet And Sour Duck

Marinated duck with a sauce is cooked together

  • 450 g Boneless duck cubed
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger finely chopped
  • 1 no Green capsicum chopped
  • 1 no Onion chopped
  • 1 no Carrot finely sliced
  • 1 tbsp Spring onion finely chopped
  • Peanut oil As reqd

For the Sauce:

  • 8 tbsp Rice vinegar
  • 4 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Light soy sauce
  • 6 tbsp Tomato ketchup


  • For preparing sweet and sour duck, marinate the duck pieces with light soy sauce, rice wine, white pepper, sesame oil and salt for 30 minutes.
  • To prepare the sauce, heat the vinegar in a pan. Add the sugar, light soy sauce and tomato ketchup. Stir till the sugar dissolves and keep it aside.
  • In another vessel heat oil and stir-fry the marinated duck until it turns golden brown on low flame. Remove it and keep it aside.
  • Then heat oil in another deep frying pan.
  • Saute the garlic and ginger till a nice smell comes.
  • Add in the onion, carrot and capsicum. Allow it to cook for 5 minutes on low flame.
  • Toss in the fried duck and cook for 3 minutes on low flame.
  • The add in the sauce and spring onion. Mix well.
  • Sweet and sour duck is ready. Serve hot with rice.
