Delicious Yam Gravy

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Yam peeled, chopped and cooked in salt water, Chena
  • 1/2 cup Yellow lentils cooked in salt water
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1/2 cup Coconut grated
  • 1/2 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Split bengal gram Uzhunnu parippu
  • 3 nos Dry red chillies broken
  • 2 springs Curry leaves
  • Water As reqd
  • Oil As reqd
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing delicious yam gravy, grind coconut and garlic to a fine paste with a little water. Keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a vessel and splutter mustard seeds.
  • Add in split bengal gram, dry red chillies and curry leaves.
  • Toss in the cooked lentils and the cooked yam. Mix it well.
  • Sprinkle in chilly powder and turmeric powder. Mix it well.
  • Pour in the coconut paste with a little water. Allow it to cook on low flame for 10 minutes with a closed lid.
  • Delicious yam gravy is ready. Serve hot with chappathi, dosa, etc.
