For preparing fish curry in malabar style, first heat coconut oil in a pan and crackle fenugreek seeds.
Add onion, ginger, garlic, green chillies and tomato. Saute well. Meanwhile grind the grated coconut, chilly powder, coriander powder and turmeric to a fine paste.
Add ground coconut to the fried onion mixture and add one cup of water. Bring the curry to boil.
Lower the heat and add the fish pieces. Add tamarind pulp and bring to boil.
Cook the fish pieces in medium heat until the gravy has acquired a thick consistency and the fish pieces are done.
Add curry leaves and remove from fire.
Fish curry in malabar style is ready. Serve hot.
