For preparing fish fry in curry sauce, first make a batter with maida, egg, pepper powder, turmeric powder and required salt.
Coat the fish pieces, one by one, with the batter and deep fry in hot boiling oil until crisp and golden brown in color.
Remove the fish pieces from oil and keep aside.
In the remaining oil, fry the finely sliced onions.
When the onions are browned, add chilly powder, coriander powder, garam masala and chopped tomato pieces. Saute well until the tomato pieces are crushed well.
Add 1/4 cup water and required salt. Boil in medium heat until the gravy has acquired a thick consistency. Lower the flame and add soya sauce and tomato sauce.
Add the fried fish pieces and mix gently in low fire. Remove the vessel from fire.
Fish fry in curry sauce, a mouth watering delicacy, is ready. Serve hot.
