Yellow Dal Curry

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Red gram Toor Dal/Thuvaraparippu
  • 1 no Tomato slit into 4
  • 2 nos Green chilies
  • 1/4 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt As reqd
  • 1 no Garlic pod

For seasoning:-

  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 no Dry chilly Kollamulaku
  • 1 tbsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1/2 cup Onion finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Wash and clean toor dal and pressure cook it with garlic, tomato, green chilies, turmeric powder and red chilly powder.
  • Heat a kadai and splutter mustard seeds.
  • Add cumin seeds and dry chillies to it.
  • Fry chopped onion till it runs to a slight golden color.
  • Add the cooked dal to this seasoning.
  • Add salt as required and allow it to boil for a minute.
  • Add coriander leaves.
