Kerala Style Tomato Chutney

Ingredients
  

  • 2 nos Ripe tomato diced into small pieces, large
  • 1/2 tsp Asafoetida Kaayam
  • Salt As reqd
  • 1 no Dry red chillies Kollamulaku
  • 2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Chillie powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • Oil As reqd
  • 1 fresh Garlic pod crushed

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, add the tomatoes, asafoetida, turmetic powder, salt, chillie powder and mix well.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan.
  • Splutter the mustard seeds and cumin seeds and saute dry red chillies and the garlic.
  • When the red chillies turn dark in colur, add the the tomato mixture.
  • Add water and cook on low heat till the tomato is well cooked (almost mashed up) and water is fully dried up.
  • :- Serve with rice.
