Easy 5 Minute Spinach

Spinach with just onions and dry coconut

Ingredients
  

  • 1 big Spinach chopped
  • 1 no Onion big
  • finely chopped
  • 2 - Dry red chillies long
  • 5 - Garlic pods slit long
  • 1 cup Grated coconut
  • Salt As reqd
  • Mustard seeds for seasoning
  • Black gram(Uzhunnuparipppu)
  • or Green gram A little for seasoning, Cheruparippu
  • 2 tbsp Oil

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Splutter mustard seeds.
  • Add black gram or moong dal in it.
  • When it starts turning brown, add the garlic and the red chillies.
  • Let the garlic turn a little brown.
  • Add the spinach. Mix it a little.
  • Add salt & close it and let it cook for 5 mins.
  • When the spinach is almost done, add the grated coconut.
  • Mix well and let it cook for 2 - 3 mins.
  • :- Serve with hot rice and pappad.
  • :- This recipe was invented when there was absolutely nothing at home except for spinach & onions and turned out to be extremely tasty. Hope you`l like it :)
