Nutty Moss Pudding

Nutty Moss Pudding, a Chinese style dessert is such a easy recipe to make, you just need few ingredients to make this.It has pure vanilla taste and flavor, so silky and delicious. China grass, also well known as agar agar is a type of gelatin extracted from Sea weed.It is available in the form of strands and powder.It is mainly used for making jellies,puddings. It is one of the most quickly prepared puddings.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tin Condensed milk
  • 2 1/2 cups Boiled milk
  • 6 dsp Sugar
  • 1/2 cups Whipped cream
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla essence
  • 10 gm China Grass
  • 1 1/2 cups Water to boil the china grass
  • 3 dsp Cashewnuts 1 dsp = 3 tsp, broken
  • 1 dsp Butter
  • 2 dsp Sugar
  • Baking powder A pinch

Instructions
 

  • Heat up a saucepan.
  • Add condensed milk, 1 cup of water, boiled milk and sugar and heat, stirring well.
  • Remove from fire, when it is about to boil.
  • Wash the china grass and soak it in 1 1/2 cups of water for 10 mins.
  • Boil the soaked china grass (in the same 1 1/2 cups water) until all of it dissolves.
  • Remove from fire and strain.
  • Pour this into the milk mixture and stir well.
  • Strain it and pour it into a pudding dish.
  • Add essence and whipped cream.
  • Stir well and allow to set in a cool place.
  • Caramelize the cashews and break into small crumbs and sprinkle over the pudding.
  • Chill the pudding.
  • :- Serve chilled.
  • To caramelize the nuts:- 1)Heat butter and sugar and stir, till it becomes brown.
  • Add a pinch of baking powder and the cashews.
  • Stir, till the nuts are brown.
  • Spread the nuts on a greased board.
  • When cool, crush it and spread on the pudding.
