Cabbage-Dry Prawns Thoran

Cabbage Dry Prawns Thoran, a different Non vegetarian curry in a traditional Kerala style. Cabbage and dry prawns together makes an amazing combo.Chopped cabbage with the addition of small dried prawns , fresh coconut, tampered with cumin seeds, flavoured with turmeric and curry leaves are a perfect match. It can be served with freshly cooked rice.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 of Cabbage
  • 2 - Green chillies
  • 1 packet Dry prawns Onakka chemmeen
  • 3/4 of Cocunut
  • or
  • 1 cup Dried/dessicated coconut
  • 1 no Onion small
  • Curry leaves A few
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder Jeerakam
  • Salt As reqd
  • Oil

Instructions
 

  • Shallow fry prawns in a pan and keep them aside.
  • Mix finely grated cabbage and all the other ingredients with enough oil.
  • Mix well with your hands.
  • Keep on stove and let the cabbage get cooked.
  • When half done, add fried prawns and gently mix.
  • Cook for another 10 mins.
  • Remove from flame.
  • :- Serve with rasam or plain moru and rice.
