Beef Roast

Very delicious beef roast - Kerala style

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Beef
  • 2 big Ginger
  • 4 nos Garlic pods
  • 1/2 kg Onion
  • 1/2 kg Tomato
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  • Mint leaves A few, Pudhina
  • Salt As reqd
  • 1 - Oil
  • 1 cup Yoghurt/Curd
  • 2 - Green chillies
  • 1 tsp *Spices powder
  • *Cinnamon(Karugapatta)
  • Cloves(Grambu)
  • Pepper(Kurumulaku)
  • Aniseeds(Perinjeerakam)
  • Cardamom(Elakka)

Instructions
 

  • Grind together ginger, garlic, coriander powder and green chillies.
  • Mix the above paste with yoghurt or curd.
  • Add powdered spices to it and mix well.
  • Rub this paste onto the beef and marinate for 1 - 2 hours.
  • Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Fry onions, till they become golden brown in colour.
  • Add marinated beef and fry for a while.
  • Add tomato and mint leaves and salt.
  • Add little hot water and cook on a medium heat.
  • When the gravy becomes very thick, remove from the stove.
