For preparing Muringakka Thoran, take a knife and peel the skin off the drumsticks. Wash them and cut them into finger length pieces. Cut them across and keep aside.
Add turmeric powder, chilly powder and salt to the grated coconut and mix them well. Keep this aside.
Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
Add mustard seeds and when they crackle, add the dry red chillies.
Add small onions and squash the baby onions, just to make them out of shape.
Once the onions turn into golden brown, add the cut drumsticks.
Add 1/2 cup water along with salt and close the pan.
Allow the drumsticks to get cooked(approx 10-12 mins, till the entire water is vapourized).
Add the grated coconut mixture to this.
Saute, till the raw smell of turmeric is gone.
:- Serve Muringakka Thoran hot with lunch or dinner.
