Bread Kofta Curry

Fried bread and potato dumplings in spicy tomato onion curry

Ingredients
  

For the koftas:

  • 3 nos Bread slices
  • 1 no Potato
  • Salt As reqd
  • 2 nos Green chillies
  • 1 tsp Chilly powder

For grinding:

  • 2 tbsp Onion
  • 3 nos Garlic pods
  • Ginger A small piece
  • 1 tsp Garam masala powder

Instructions
 

  • For making the koftas: 1)Pressure cook potato, peel and mash nicely.
  • Soak bread in little water and squeeze out water from the slices.
  • Mix together mashed potatoes and bread by adding salt, green chillies and chilly powder.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Make small balls from the prepared bread and mashed potato dough, flatten a little bit and fry till golden brown.
  • For making the gravy: 1)Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add chopped onions and fry till translucent.
  • Add ground masala and fry till oil separates.
  • Add yoghurt and fry for a while.
  • Add chilly powder and turmeric powder and fry for another minute.
  • Add tomatoes.
  • After a while, add about one cup of water and boil till the gravy becomes thick.
  • Add prepared koftas just before serving.
  • Garnish with finely cut coriander leaves.
