Tharavu(Duck) fry

  • 1 Duck
  • 1 piece Turmeric
  • 6 nos Garlic pods
  • 3 nos Chillies
  • 8 nos Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Coriander
  • Cinnamon As reqd, Karugapatta
  • Cloves As reqd, Grambu
  • Salt As reqd


  • Grind all the ingredients and mix with enough water to cook the duck.
  • Add enough salt.
  • Cook the duck in this mixture in a closed container.
  • Evenly fry the cooked duck in dalda or ghee.
  • Transfer the duck to a serving dish.
  • Thicken the gravy in the same skillet and pour around the duck.
