Spinach With Masoor Dal

Spinach/Paalak cooked with Masoor dal

Ingredients
  

  • 1 bunch Spinach Cheera
  • 1 cup Masoor dal Parippu
  • 2 nos Red chillies Kollamulaku
  • Turmeric powder A pinch
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • Salt As reqd
  • Coriander leaves A few

Instructions
 

  • Wash paalak (spinach) thoroughly, and chop it finely.
  • Wash masoor dal.
  • Put both in a pressure cooker and cook for 20 mins.(up to 3 whistles.)
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add ginger/garlic paste, coriander powder, red chillies, turmeric powder and salt.
  • Stir till the raw smell of ginger /garlic goes and the oil starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  • Add cooked masoor dal and paalak.
  • Add pure ghee and cook for another 5 mins.
  • :-Serve hot with Plain Rice, Papad and fried "Dahi - Mirchi".
