Lasooni Dal Tadka | Garlic Dal

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Masoor dhal
  • 1 no. Onion small 
  • 1/2 piece Tomato
  • 2 nos. Green chilly
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin powder
  • Salt as required

For Tempering

  • 1 Clove Garlic chopped
  • Few Curry leaves
  • 3 Nos. Dried Red chilly
  • 2 tbsp Ghee

Instructions
 

  • First, in a pressure cook take dhal, tomato, onion, green chilly, turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt as required.
  • Pour 4 cups water and pressure cook it for 2 whistles. Once the pressure settles down, mash the dal using a whisk.
  • Take all the ingredients for seasoning.
  • Further, in a pan heat 1 tbsp ghee and add chopped garlic and saute till it turns into light brown in color.
  • Then add curry leaves, dried red chilly and saute for 10 seconds.
  • Pour the tempering over dal and mix well and adjust the consistency of dhal by adding ½ cup water or more and heaating. Finally, enjoy Lasooni Dal Tadka with rice, chappati etc.
