Steamed Chicken Pathiri | Kozhi Pathiri

  • 500 g Chicken
  • 1+1/2 Tsp Pepper powder
  • 1/4+1/4 Tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 Nos. Onion
  • 1 Tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 3 Nos. Green chilly
  • Curry leaves Few
  • 1/2 Tsp Garam masala
  • 2 Cups Rice flour
  • Water As required
  • Salt As required


  • Cook the chicken by adding pepper powder, turmeric powder and salt as required.
  • Heat coconut oil in a pan and add ginger garlic paste, green chillies and saute well. Then add chopped onion into it and cook for 4 minutes on a low flame, Now add turmeric powder, pepper powder and saute for another few seconds.
  • Add the shredded chicken, chopped coriander leaves, curry leaves and salt into it. Mix well and cook for 3 minutes. The filling is ready.
  • Mix rice flour with water and salt as required to make a smooth dough. Knead the dough and make it into a soft ball.
  • Take some dough and make a small ball out of it ( like for chapathi ). Divide it into two portions. Roll it out into two thick pathiris. Place filling at the center of a pathiri and place another rolled out pathiri over it and gently press the edges together. Steam cook it for 25 minutes.
  • Cut pathiri into small pieces. Serve hot. Tasty Steamed Chicken Pathiri is ready.
