Clean, wash and cut chicken into small pieces. Marinate the chicken pieces with turmeric powder, 1 tsp garam masala and little salt. Keep aside.Make the green masala paste ready.
Heat oil in a kadai and saute onion by adding little salt.When the onion becomes soft, add ginger-garlic paste and coriander powder and fry for 2 minutes.
Add chopped tomato and saute till it mashes well with the onion masala. Now add the green masala paste and saute for 2 minutes or till it releases a nice aroma.
Add the marinated chicken pieces along with the remaining 2 tsp garam masala and little water. Mix well, cover and cook it on a medium flame till chicken is done.
The gravy should be of medium consistency. Check salt and add more if needed. Remove from fire and serve hot.
