Green Masala Chicken

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Chicken
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 tbsp Oil
  • 3 tsp Garam masala
  • 4 Onion sliced
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1.5 tbsp
  • 1 Tomato chopped, big
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder

For the green masala paste :

  • 1 big cup Coriander leaves
  • 1/4 cup Mint leaves
  • 5 Green chillies
  • 4 sprigs Curry leaves Grind these ingredients into a fine green paste. You can add more (or less) green chillies according to your taste.

Instructions
 

  • Clean, wash and cut chicken into small pieces. Marinate the chicken pieces with turmeric powder, 1 tsp garam masala and little salt. Keep aside.Make the green masala paste ready.
  • Heat oil in a kadai and saute onion by adding little salt.When the onion becomes soft, add ginger-garlic paste and coriander powder and fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add chopped tomato and saute till it mashes well with the onion masala. Now add the green masala paste and saute for 2 minutes or till it releases a nice aroma.
  • Add the marinated chicken pieces along with the remaining 2 tsp garam masala and little water. Mix well, cover and cook it on a medium flame till chicken is done.
  • The gravy should be of medium consistency. Check salt and add more if needed. Remove from fire and serve hot.
