  • 1 kg Chicken
  • 2 inch Ginger chopped lengthwise
  • 8-10 cloves Garlic sliced
  • 2-3 nos Onion sliced
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon powder Karugapatta
  • 6-8 nos Green chillies slit
  • Turmeric powder A pinch
  • 1-2 tbsp Chilly powder depending on your spice level
  • 2 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 2 nos Tomato chopped
  • Curry leaves A handful
  • Salt Ads reqd
  • Oil As reqd


  • Clean chicken and cut into small pieces. Wash well and drain.
  • Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add ginger pieces and stir for couple of minutes. Then season onions until slight brown along with the garlic.
  • Now add the green chillies and stir for a minute or so. Now add curry leaves, chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and keep stirring. You need to let the mix fry a bit and let the aroma come.
  • Add the chicken pieces to the mix and add half a cup of water. Close the pan and cook it with occasional stirring. Gravy should be thick. Now you add the cinnamon powder, mix and ready to serve!
