Dal Fry Easy

Dal (Parippu) curry

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Tur Dal / Toor dal Thuvaraparippu
  • 3 nos Garlic pods
  • Ginger A small piece
  • 5 nos Green chillies
  • 1/2 bunch Coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt As reqd
  • 1 no Bay leaves Karuga/Vazhana ela
  • 1 no Cinnamon stick Karugapatta
  • 1/2 of Onion
  • 2 - Ghee/Cooking oil

Instructions
 

  • Grind together the green chillies, coriander leaves, ginger and cumin seeds into a paste.
  • Cook the toor dal, along with garlic pods and turmeric powder.
  • Heat 2 - 3 tsp cooking oil or ghee in a pan or a kadai.
  • Saute the bay leaves and cinnamon stick for sometime.
  • Add onions & fry till golden brown.
  • Add the ground paste & fry till all the water leaves & the paste turns brown in colour.
  • Add the cooked dal.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • :- Serve with Roti / Paratha / Jeera Rice.
