Easy Ulli Vada

Ulli Vada is an authentic, tasty, tea time snack very popular in Kerala and surrounding areas. This can be easily prepared at home with readily available ingredients. The snack is perfect for monsoon and can be enjoyed with a cup of hot tea. This is unique and special with chopped onion blended with flour, spicy ingredients and deep fried into hot crispy, crunchy Vadas. Ulli Vada can be easily prepared by deep frying the mixture of sliced onion,chopped ginger,chilli powder,gram flour and salt. It is very simple and easy preparation and no need any soaking, fermentation and resting time like parippu vada and uzhunu vada. Onion is nutritious and healthy for body. Basically these are onion pakodas and are popular as a street food snack in Kerala. Ulli Vadas can be served with coconut chutney or green chutney or tomato ketchup or mint chutney. Ingredients
  

  • 3 large Onionn
  • 3 Green chilly
  • Ginger small pc
  • 1 hand Curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp Gram flour
  • 2 tbsp All purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt : As required
  • Oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • For preparing Easy Ulli Vada, take a vessel and add sliced onion, crushed ginger and chopped green chilly and curry leaves.
  • Squeeze well with hand by adding required salt.
  • Add gram flour and all purpose flour.
  • Mix it well and, make the batter, sprinkle some water only if needed.
  • Crispy and Tasty Road side onion vada is ready now.
