Soyachunks Tomatobath

There are probably many recipes for tomato rice. This is a south Indian recipe for tomato rice (bhath) adding Soya chunks that really like every one.

Ingredients
  

  • rice 2 cup
  • soya chunks 1/2 cup
  • onion 2 no
  • tomato 6 no.
  • green chili 4 no.
  • ginger garlic paste 4 tsp
  • coriander leaves 1/2 cup
  • red chili powder 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • garam masala 1 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • bay leaf 3 no.
  • cinamon small piece
  • clove 3 no.
  • aniseed 2 no.
  • fennel seed 1 tsp
  • oil 4 tsp
  • ghee 2 tsp

Instructions
 

  • Chop the onion, green chili and coriander leaves
  • soak the soya chunks in water for 20 mins and filter the water
  • make tomato as puree
  • heat the oil and ghee in the cooker and temper the bay leaf, aniseed, fennel seed, cinnamon and clove
  • saute the onion and green chili for 5 mins until the onion change the colour
  • add coriander leaves and mix it
  • add ginger garlic paste and mix it
  • add tomato puree and mix it and allow to cook for 2 mins
  • add red chili powder, garam masala, salt and turmeric powder and mix it
  • add soya chunks and mix it
  • add soaked rice and mix it
  • allow to cook for 2 mins in medium flame
  • add 4 cup of water for 2 cup of rice and close the lid and allow for 1 whistle
  • now soya chunks tomatobath is ready to serve. serve with raitha
