Yam Masala

Elephant Yam cooked with tomato and spices gives an awesome taste. it is a dry fry recipe and easy to cook. it give delicious taste along with curd rice

Ingredients
  

  • Yam 1/4 kg
  • onion 1 no.
  • tomato 1 no.
  • curry leaves 5 no.
  • ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • red chili powder 1 tsp
  • garam masala 1 tsp
  • oil 4 tsp
  • mustard 1/2 tsp
  • broken urad dal 1/4 tsp

Instructions
 

  • peel the yam and chop into small pieces
  • par boil the yam by adding salt
  • chop the onion and tomato
  • heat the oil in the pan and temper the mustard, broken urad dal and curry leaves and add onion and saute it
  • add tomato and mix well
  • add salt and turmeric powder and mix it
  • add ginger garlic paste and mix well until the raw smell goes out
  • add red chili powder and garam masala and mix it
  • add par boiled yam and allow to cook for 10 mins in medium flame
  • once the masala gets well cooked with yam turn off the flame
  • now yam masala is ready to serve
