Nellikka (Gooseberry) Achhaar (Gravy)
It is a tasty spicy dish that goes well with rice, rotis etc. It is an easy recipe to prepare.

- 10 - Nellikka Gooseberry
- 1 tspn Fenugreek Powder
- 1 tspn Asafoetida Powder
- 3 tspsns Red Chilli Powder
- ½ tspn Turmeric Powder
- Salt As required
- 2 tspns Sesame Oil if necessary
Boil 2 cups of water
Add the Nellikka (Gooseberry) along with half-a- tspn Turmieric powder and some salt in the boiled water
Boil the water further in a medium flame for some time
When the Gooseberry starts to burst, put off the stove and remove water from it and allow to cool.
Remove the seeds from the Gooseberries
Add Red Chilli Powder, Asafoetida powder and Fenugreek Powder
Stir the mix well (add 1 – 2 tspns Sesame oil also, if necessary)
Also add ½ cup of hot water and stir the mix well.
Nellikka (Gooseberry) pickle is ready. It can be served as side dish for Dosa, Cooked rice etc.
