Dal Idiyappam

this is one of the varieties of idiyappam. this is healthy and good in taste . we can do this with any kind of dal. here i used moogn dal.

  • 2 cup Idiyappam
  • 1/2 cup Moogn dal
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Tomato
  • 2 Green chili
  • Curry leaves little
  • 2 tblsp Coconut
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • Salt as taste
  • 1 tsp Mustard
  • 1 tsp channa dal


  • Steam idiyappam and keep aside
  • Cook dal and keep aside
  • In pan add oil and temper mustard and channa dal
  • Add onions and green chili, curry leaves
  • Now add tomato, salt and saute it well
  • Add Dal and cook for 2 mins
  • Add coconut and turn off
  • Now add dal mixture to idiyappam and mix well
  • Now its ready to serve Dal idiyappam
