Thinai Payasam

Thinai Is one the millets. Its give more taste other millets. In this thinai its combine milk or coconut milk to add payasam.

  • 150 gm Thinai
  • 200 gm Jaggerry
  • 1 cup Coconut milk
  • ½ cup Moong dal
  • 10 Cashew nuts
  • 3 tblsp Ghee
  • ½ tsp Cardamom powder


  • In pan add ghee and roast cashew and keep aside
  • In same pan add thinai and roast well and keep aside
  • Roast moong dal and cook both thinai and moong dal soft keep aside
  • In big vessel add jaggerry with little water and make syrup and filter
  • Now combine all thinai and moong dal mixture with jaggerry syrup and cook for 2 min
  • Now add coconut milk make one boil
  • Add roasted cashew and cardamom powder and mix well and turn off the flame.
  • Now its ready yummy thinai payasam
