Goan Mutton Curry

Mutton cooked with coconut milk. It gives good flavour & tatse

Ingredients
  

  • Mutton : ½ k gm
  • Onions sliced : 2 nos
  • Turmeric powder : 1 tsp
  • Fennel seeds : 1 tsp
  • Garlic ginger paste : 1 tsp
  • Fresh coconut grated : ½ no
  • Coriander leaves : 1 bunch
  • Garlic : 10 flakes
  • Green chillies : 6 large
  • Oil : 2 tsp
  • Water : 1½ cup
  • Lemon : 1 no
  • Salt : to taste

Instructions
 

  • Grate coconut and soak in 1½ cup hot water and keep aside till it cools.
  • Grind to a fine paste in a mixer and extract coconut milk. You need 2 cups coconut milk.
  • Grind green chillies, fennel seeds, garlic ginger paste, a large handful of coriander, salt and turmeric powder to a fine paste and rub it over the meat and keep aside for 30 minutes.

  • Cut the remaining coriander leaves and garlic length - wise and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker and fry the garlic flakes and the sliced onions till golden brown.

  • Add the marinated meat, cook for 30 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • Enter Step
  • Add coconut milk, close the pressure cooker and cook for 10 - 12 whistles.

  • Serve with sliced lemon.
