First heat ghee in a pan. Add half of chopped onion and fry till soft. Transfer into a mixer bowl.
In the same pan, fry the dry chillies and transfer into mixer and grind together with the cashew nuts.
Marinate the chicken pieces with the ground paste, ginger, curd, kasuri methi, green chillies, turmeric, cumin seeds, cumin powder and required salt.
Keep aside for half an hour.
Heat ghee (1 tbsp or more) and fry the marinated chicken in it. Cover and cook the chicken in slow fire.
When chicken is done, add the thick coconut milk and half cup water. Let the gravy become thick. Chicken Noorjahan is ready.
