Fry the rice and moong dhal for 2 minutes. Soak it in water for about 5 minutes and in a vessel add water and boil or one can pressure cook as well
Chop coriander, chilli, curry leaves and ginger
Heat ghee in a kadai, fry black pepper and jeera
Add the cashew, chilli, coriander, ginger and curry leaves and fry for 3 minutes
Add this to the rice and cook till the rice looses its shape
Add turmeric powder, Asafoetida and salt
Serve hot with coconut chatni or sambar
