Ingredients
  

  • 100 gms Raw Rice
  • 50 gms Moong dhal
  • 2 Chilli
  • Curry leaves as needed
  • Coriander as needed
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 1 ts Pepper
  • 1 ts Jeera
  • ½ ts Turmeric powder
  • Salt as needed
  • Ghee as needed
  • Asafoetida pinch

Instructions
 

  • Fry the rice and moong dhal for 2 minutes. Soak it in water for about 5 minutes and in a vessel add water and boil or one can pressure cook as well
  • Chop coriander, chilli, curry leaves and ginger
  • Heat ghee in a kadai, fry black pepper and jeera
  • Add the cashew, chilli, coriander, ginger and curry leaves and fry for 3 minutes
  • Add this to the rice and cook till the rice looses its shape
  • Add turmeric powder, Asafoetida and salt
  • Serve hot with coconut chatni or sambar
