Kokam Sharbeth

A cool drink with kokam

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Dried kokam
  • cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Roasted cumin powder
  • ½ tsp Black salt powder
  • Ice cubes A few
  • Mint leaves for garnishing (optional)
  • ½ tsp Black pepper powder optional

Instructions
 

  • Soak kokam in 2 cups of warm water till soft.
  • Grind the soaked kokam in the grinder along with the water and sugar.
  • Strain the syrup through the fine sieve.
  • Add roasted cumin powder, black salt and black pepper powder in it.
  • To serve, add 2 cups of chilled water and ice cubes in the concentrate.
  • Garnish with a mint leaf.
  • Gently pour the sharbat in the glass and serve.
  • :-Kokam sharbat is a summer coolant and is used to sour curries.
