Kadai Prawns

Kadai Prawns is one of the tastiest, spicy North Indian curry dishes which we can prepare easily. Kadai prawns is flavoured with spices which makes the curry aromatic. It goes well with plain rice, roti or paratha.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g Prawns
  • 2 no Onion
  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 1 no. Tomsto pulp
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Kashmiri chilli powder
  • 3 tbsp Coriander seeds
  • 1 tbsp Black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
  • 3 nos. Dried red chillies
  • 1 tbsp Kasuri methi
  • 2 tbsp each Oil/Butter
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Dry roast the ingredients from coriander seeds to kasuri methi on low fire and grind it to a coarse powder, Keep it aside.
  • Heat oil/butter in a kadai, add onion, ginger garlic paste and saute it.
  • Add turmeric, chilli powder and saute again. Then add tomato pulp and salt, mix it till the raw smell goes.
  • Add the cleaned prawns and mix well. Then add the ground masala powder and stir well.
  • Close and cook on low fire for 10 minutes by adding water, if needed add salt. Check and stir occasionally.
  • Kadai Prawns is ready.Serve hot with plain rice, roti or paratha.

Notes

Kasuri methi - 1 tbsp
Oil/butter - 2 tbsp each
Salt to taste
