Wash and soak the basmati rice for 5 minutes.
Heat some oil in a vessel.
Add chopped onion and saute till it turns very soft.
Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for 2 minutes.
Add the rice and continue to fry.
Add water in the proportion; for 1 cup rice : 2 cups of water.
Add mint leaves, coriander leaves, chopped green chillies and salt.
:- We can also add green peas, carrot and any other vegetables as required.
Cook till the water gets fully absorbed.
Transfer the contents to a serving plate or bowl.
:- Serve hot with Stuffed brinjal or Raita.
