  • Wash and soak the basmati rice for 5 minutes.
  • Heat some oil in a vessel.
  • Add chopped onion and saute till it turns very soft.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add the rice and continue to fry.
  • Add water in the proportion; for 1 cup rice : 2 cups of water.
  • Add mint leaves, coriander leaves, chopped green chillies and salt.
  • :- We can also add green peas, carrot and any other vegetables as required.
  • Cook till the water gets fully absorbed.
  • Transfer the contents to a serving plate or bowl.
  • :- Serve hot with Stuffed brinjal or Raita.
