Masoor Dal Curry

An easy and healthy curry with masoor dal

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Masoor dal Red parippu
  • 1 nos Onion large
  • 6 nos Garlic pods
  • Ginger A small piece
  • 4 nos Green chillies
  • 1 no Tomato large
  • ½ tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • Salt As reqd
  • Coriander leaves(for garnishing)

Instructions
 

  • Wash and cook the dal in a pressure cooker with turmeric powder, salt and water.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add chopped onion. Saute till it turns light brown in colour.
  • Grind ginger, garlic and green chillies together.
  • Add the above masala to the fried onion.
  • Add chopped tomato and saute well.
  • Cover and cook until the onion and tomatoes become soft.
  • Add cooked dal to the above masala and mix well.
  • Add some coriander leaves.
  • Transfer the contents to a serving bowl and serve.
  • :- This dal curry tastes delicious with white rice like basmati rice, ponni rice, kolam rice.
