Bottlegourd Curry

An easy bottlegourd (Dhoodhi) curry

Ingredients
  

  • 1 no Bottle gourd peeled and cubed
  • 1 no Onion chopped
  • 1 no Tomato chopped
  • ½ tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Chilli powder
  • Ginger garlic paste
  • ½ tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 2 full Kashmiri chilly
  • Curry leaves A few
  • Salt As reqd
  • Water As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Peel, wash and cube the bottlegourd.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Splutter jeera, mustard and curry leaves. Stir for few seconds.
  • Add chopped onion and stir and allow it to turn translucent.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and stir well.
  • Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, cumin and coriander powder and mix well.
  • Add chopped tomato and stir till the tomatoes soften.
  • Add bottle gourd.
  • Pour 1 - 1 ½ cup water and mix all the ingredients well.
  • Cover with a lid and allow to cook for 10 minutes on medium flame.
