tamarind soaked in water for 15 minutes

cut in half

Instructions
For preparing inji puli, first extract tamarind juice.
Add chilly powder, turmeric powder, a pinch of salt and jaggery to tamarind extract and mix well. Keep this aside.
In a wok or kadai, heat oil and splutter mustard seeds. Then add whole red chillies , ginger pieces and green chilly pieces. Fry well.
Add the tamarind pulp and cook until done... enjoy inji puli side dish with biriyani.
