Mathi Paalpizhinjadu (Sardines)

Ingredients
  

  • 6 nos Sardines
  • 25 nos Shallots chopped, kunjulli
  • 1 cup Coconut milk
  • 1 no Tomato sliced
  • 2 nos Gambooge kudampuli
  • 4 nos Green chillies slit
  • 1 tbsp Ginger grated
  • 6 cloves Garlic chopped
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 2 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Fenugreek seeds Uluva
  • Curry leaves Few
  • Coconut oil As reqd
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing mathi paalpizhinjadu, mix fish, onion, ginger, garlic, gambooge, green chillies, coriander, chilly powder, turmeric and salt.
  • Heat a clay pot, splutter fenugreek seeds. Add the fish mix and fry it.
  • Add little water and cook the fish.
  • Add curry leaves and coconut milk.
  • When curry thickens, remove from flame.
  • Pour coconut oil on top and serve.
  • Mathi paalpizhinjadu is ready.
